About Us
Even Split Press is a free public press built on a three-way split mechanics between Happening, Opinion, and News — rooted in the world of meta, knowledge and literature from which it came and to which it flows back. We provide the structure and base. The interpretation belongs to the reader.
Even Split Press was founded to provide a new mechanics for public understanding — not a new opinion, not a new ideology, not a new voice among existing voices. The name reflects both our operating principle and the older meaning of the word press: the act of making an impression, leaving a mark, creating a record. The kind of shared impressions that humans have been observing since the Stone Age, and long before. The type of shared impression that translates a single print, a single record, a footmark to footprints, when acknowledged honestly, outlasts the forces that would distort it in time.
Our approach is defined by a single mechanics, expressed in our slogan: a three way split between Happening, Opinion, and News. These three are distinct by nature. They serve different purposes. They answer different questions. Keeping them separate is not a stylistic choice — it is the foundation of trustworthy information.
Our Mission
We provide facts, context, and a transparent record. We do not provide assertions dressed as facts rather what is happening, or opinion dressed as news. We believe the public is fully capable of forming its own judgments when given the raw materials — the happening as it unfolds, the opinion as a clearly labeled perspective, and the news as a shared, verifiable record.
Many united causes and joint frameworks around the world work toward an honest three way split. We cover governance and the economy through the working relationship between Developing, Consuming, and Assets. We cover civic life through the working relationship between Representing, Delegating, and Rights. These are not metaphors or academic categories. They are descriptions of how systems actually function — how value is created and distributed, how power is entrusted and exercised, how rights are declared and enforced. We report on these systems by applying the same three way split mechanics: keeping the developing process distinct from the act of consumption, and both distinct from the record of shared assets. Keeping the act of representation distinct from the delegation of authority, and both distinct from the rights that are supposed to be protected.
We believe the press, the public, and governance form a single joint framework, a first and foremost pillar of three united causes, each depending on the other two. When the mechanics of any one part become uneven, the entire framework is affected. Perhaps without this pillar — the stability and safety of the three way split itself — no joint framework holds. An uneven split does not correct itself. It does not resolve with time or good intention alone. It requires active maintenance, honest accounting and the discipline to keep Happening, Opinion and News distinct even when the forces that benefit from blending them are greater. Our role is to help maintain that balance — not by advocating for any particular policy or party, but by providing the clear, separated, verifiable record that makes informed public judgment possible.
Our Standards
The separation of Happening, Opinion, and News is the first standard. It is non-negotiable. Every article published by Even Split Press makes these distinctions visible. Happening, corresponding to Meta Base, is presented as ongoing and unfinalized. Opinion, flowing into Literature Base, is presented as attributable and challengeable. News, living in Knowledge Base, is presented as the best available record at the time of publication — always open to revision, always subject to correction. Like a number system needs its syntax and base, language needs the same — to make a point worth noting, high or low, positive or negative.
We pursue original reporting and independent analysis. We do not recycle narratives. We do not accept pre-packaged stories from any source, public or private, without making the sourcing and the process transparent. We attribute all disputable facts. We provide parties named in our reporting the opportunity to respond before publication. We do not publish anonymously sourced claims without clear justification, and when we do, we explain the reason.
We maintain no financial entanglements with the subjects of our coverage. We accept no payment for coverage. We do not allow advertising or sponsorship to influence the structure or content of our work. Our journalists and editors avoid partisan political activity and public statements that would compromise the perception of impartiality.
We are accountable for our errors. When we are wrong, we correct the record prominently and promptly. We do not bury corrections. We do not treat the record as a finished product. It is a living document, and its trustworthiness depends on its openness to revision.
No Pre-Synthesized Journalism
We adhere to a principle we call No Pre-Synthesized Journalism. We believe it is pretext and context what matters. Debates and discussions may favour handy brownie points, and our foundations will explore it as honest reporting not favoured.
This means we do not deliver conclusions disguised as reports. We do not pre-chew the opinion and insert it into the news. We do not present a happening as if it were covered from all angles by the rest of the world, with all meaning assigned and thoroughly complete and all questions answered.
Before publication, every article is examined to ensure that the three components — Happening, Opinion, and News — remain structurally distinct. We believe everything worth reporting carries its own natural presence of the three way split. Our role is to explore and discover that presence honestly rather than decide whether it is ready.
We believe narrative flow is not the highest good. Clarity is. And clarity requires separation, even when separation is uncomfortable.
Our Audience
We serve anyone who participates in the life of a society — those who earn a living, those who build enterprises, those who govern, those who teach, those who question, and those who simply seek to understand the world they inhabit. We do not readily assume what our readers should think, purposefully, that we do not speak for any and every class, profession, or political interest. We provide the structure. The interpretation belongs to the reader.
We serve our purpose with rational management for our audience — because anyone who earns a living is not only managing their own rational but is cumulatively part of their society's revenue, collectively part of their nation's accounting, and collaboratively part of an international framework whether they know it or not. Individual, national and international are not separate scales. They are the same mechanic at different levels of the same shared reality.
Our audience includes those who feel that existing news sources, however numerous, are not providing the mechanical transparency needed to form independent judgment. We do not compete with other publications on the basis of speed or volume. We compete on the basis of how our information is structured — and whether that structure enables or disables independent thought.
How We Are Built
Internally, our work is organized as a corpus — not only for communication and social media but as a training corpus. Verbal languages were in practice before written and sign language came into existence. We can bring the world together not by which language is widely used or trying to take over to become, but if we respect a common verbal accord. Before a single word is written, we know which base we are working in.
- Meta Base — the raw vocabulary, the words, data points and observations that form the foundation of acknowledgment. It is where Happening lives before anything is built around it.
- Literature Base — the domain of narrative and storyline, the plots, aims and objectives that shape how understanding is received. It is where Opinion flows and takes form.
- Knowledge Base — the domain of evidence, reasoning and verified fact, the record of what is known and how it is known. It is where News lives as a shared and verifiable record.
Metabase (MB), Literature Base (LB) and Knowledge Base (KB) are not separate silos. They are originated meta from the world of knowledge and Even Split Press is built from the same world to pay back to the same free world of literature as HON, Happening, Opinion and News — H as MB, O as LB and N as KB. Together they form one three way split mechanics which does not segregate source, product and publication. It begins building from the same literature world in which it is merging into as our work.
A narrative is evidence or not. Evidence is vocabulary or not. The separation is maintained at every level and every impression Even Split Press is built to lead — not just at the moment of publication but in every footmark and footprint of our work.
Our Commitment
Even Split Press is a mechanical service. We do not claim authority on the basis of brand, history, or market position. We claim authority on the basis of how we work — and we show that work. The proof is in the structure of every article we publish. The trust we seek is not inherited. It is earned, word by word, article by article, separation by separation, correction by correction.
We believe society benefits from a common set of verifiable facts and a transparent record of how those facts were gathered, structured, and presented. We believe that our work is our sole commitment. It is not an ideology. It is a discipline. Even Split Press shares an honest impression because it exists and is even. An uneven one, however unnoticed and denied its existence, always sheds its impression too. And it is the discipline we have chosen to practice as a free public service, for as long as there is a public that needs it.
Reaching Even Split Press
We take all communications seriously from our readers, subscribers, and the public. We welcome corrections, inquiries, and news tips. We also welcome a kind of communication that other publications may not: questions about our mechanics.
- If you believe we have failed to maintain the core of our vision, a three way split mechanics — we want to know.
- Even if there is the slightest divergence from our vision — we want to know.
- If we have not achieved a Happening presented as complete, an Opinion with clear attribution, or a News record that is open and not presented as final — we want to know.
- We want to let you know that by doing so you are supporting your own journalism and its bylaws in many ways.
We cannot guarantee an individual response to every communication due to volume. But we can guarantee that every communication is read, and that patterns of concern inform our internal review processes. What is worth a response will receive one — either an acknowledgment or a justified proof of concept from our team. Excellence in communication is not separate from our mechanics. It is part of it.
